Hair of the Dog Brewing Company welcomes visitors - but please call ahead so we can be ready for you and to make sure we're home.

A word of warning: Online mapping services like MapQuest, MapBlast, and Yahoo! Maps don't know how to get to the brewery. Their directions are wrong. They have you do things like drive through railroad yards. There is a handy map for reference to the left and detailed directions below.

In General

Hair of the Dog is in the northwest corner of an industrial area bounded on the north by Holgate Blvd, and on the west by railroad yards. Getting here involves going to the corner of 26th and Holgate and then looping through the industrail area to reach the brewery.

Taking Tri-Met - the Portland City Bus

From downtown on 5th Avenue find a Brown Beaver bus stop and take:

17 Holgate to 26th and Holgate, pull the Stop Request cord as the bus goes over the railroad yards and get off at the Montag Oil Company.
10 Harold ride the bus to 28th and Holgate there is a closed gas station on the corner. You may want to ask the bus driver to tell you about Holgate if you don't know the area. Walk downhill on Holgate to the Montage Oil Company
9 Powell to 26th and Powell - with the Burgerville on the corner. Walk south (away from Burgerville) on 26th to Holgate, ten blocks or about one third of a mile, to Montage Oil Company.
Bus schedules - On weekends and in the evening the 9 Powell runs every 15 minutes, the 17 Holgate every half hour and the 10 Harold once an hour. You can balance the wait time against the walk when deciding which bus to take. The names of the bus routes are links to the schedules for them if you would like exact information.

All Buses - From the Montage Oil company you can walk toward the railroad overpass to the foot path, a short stairway, to 24th and walk one block to Pardee and then 1 block to 23rd to reach the brewery.

By Car

From I5 Going North - Take the Ross Island Bridge exit, cross over the river on the bridge. You will then be on Powell Blvd. Stay on Powell until 26th Avenue - with a city park to your right and Burgerville on the left - turn right. Go 12 blocks south to Schiller - which is two blocks after you pass Montag oil on Holgate. At Schiller turn right, go two blocks - until the road Ts out at 24th and turn right again. Make the first left on Pardee and go one block and then turn right onto 23rd, find a parking spot. The brewery is on the left at the end of the street.

From I5 Going South - Take the City Center Exit and bear left following the signs for OMSI. Take the first exit to the right - before you get as far as the first traffic light and go south on McLoughlin/MLK Blvd. until you go under the Ross Island bridge. Get in the right hand lane and follow the exit for Holgate, travel east on Holgate until you are crossing over the railroad yards, then get into the right hand lane. At 26th Avenue, with Montage Oil company on your right, turn right. Go south two blocks to Schiller. At Schiller turn right, go two blocks - until the road Ts out at 24th and turn right again. Make the first left onto Pardee and go one block and then turn right onto 23rd and find a parking spot. The brewery is on the left at the end of the street.

From I205 Going North or South - Take the Powell Blvd exit. Go west on Powell, towards downtown Portland, until you reach 26th Avenue, about 3 blocks after you pass the McDonalds and Wendys. Turn left on 26th - you'll see the Burgerville on the right - Go 12 blocks south to Schiller - which is two blocks after you pass Montag oil on Holgate. At Schiller turn right, go two blocks - until the road Ts out on 24th and turn right again. Make the first left, onto Pardee, and go one block and then turn right onto 23rd and find a parking spot. The brewery is on the left at the end of the street.
